When Sea Freight Is the Right Choice

Sea freight is priced by volume (CBM — cubic metres), not weight or urgency. That makes it dramatically cheaper than air for anything bulky: furniture, renovation materials, machinery, or cartons of stock. The trade-off is time — sea shipments take weeks, not days.

For most orders, you don’t need a full container. LCL (less-than-container-load) consolidation means your goods share container space with other shipments and you pay only for the CBM you use. For large-volume imports, FCL (full container load) gives you the whole container.

YHS receives your goods at our Shenzhen warehouse first, which means everything is inspected, repacked to reduce wasted space, and consolidated before it sails — fewer surprises and a smaller bill.

What’s Included

Repacking to cut CBM

We repack loosely-boxed goods before loading — less wasted space, lower cost.

Inspection before sailing

Goods are checked at our warehouse while suppliers can still fix problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBM and how does it affect my price?

CBM (cubic metre) is the volume your cargo occupies. Sea freight is charged per CBM, so a large light item (like a sofa) ships far cheaper by sea than by air, where you’d pay by weight.

What’s the difference between LCL and FCL?

LCL means your goods share a container with other shipments and you pay for the space you use. FCL means you book the entire container — usually worthwhile for large-volume commercial imports.

Can you ship furniture and renovation materials?

Yes — bulky items like furniture, tiles, lighting, and fittings are exactly what sea freight is for. Door-to-door means you don’t handle anything until it arrives at your address.

How long does sea freight take?

Sea freight is measured in weeks rather than days, and timing varies by route and season. Tell us your cargo and destination on WhatsApp and we’ll give you a current estimate.

Is my cargo checked before it ships?

Yes. Everything passes through our Shenzhen warehouse, where it’s received, inspected, and repacked before loading.
